Editor’s Note: The following is an Opportunity Brief curated by America’s Engineers to connect commercial contractors, technology innovators, and industry partners with active defense research solicitations. The complete project requirements and official submission portal are hosted by ERDCWERX.
The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is partnering with ERDCWERX to invite commercial industry solution providers to submit proposals for the Automated Airfield Pavement Inspections initiative.
Airfield infrastructure requires routine, highly precise condition surveys to maintain operational readiness and safety. Traditional manual inspection methods can be labor-intensive and require temporary runway closures. ERDC seeks to identify and evaluate automated technologies that can rapidly capture, analyze, and report surface distresses, structural integrity, and pavement condition metrics with minimal impact on airfield flight operations.
